At first, producers' idea was to create three little blue ducks to overthrow cartoons world.
This idea has been changed, cause it would have too much reminded three already existing little ducks (guess who); so, at the end, staff decided to leave any reference to real animal world to create the "Cartoonus Characterus": this how Tom Ruegger, the senior producer, defined them in an relased interview. This way the ancestors of the actual Yakko, Wakko e Dot have born; they were named Yakki, Smakki and Wakki and they were supposed to reflect the real nature of the three sons of Tom Ruegger (what a lucky man!!). By the time the staff added at the trio a sweet little sister and mixed Wakki and Smakki to create the final character of Wakko; changed some aspects of Yakki and Dot, to create the final Yakko and... Dot!

Those model sheet are dated 1992 (YAY!) and drawn by Dan Askett.
They show the original models of Yakko, Wakko and Dot. I think it's cool watching how the several animation services have "interpreted" them!

	I suppose this model sheet is one of the firstest, in fact there're some details that tie the characters to the old prototypes: the ribbon on Dot's head and the missing of the forelocks on the brothers' face. Also the feet shape is the same of the prototypes model.
